Mid South Horse Trials

I was very busy riding and coaching at a very soggy Mid- South 3-Day Event.  I had a wonderful weekend and was happy to see that the organizers of this event were able to pull everything off with not only the weather but also all the activities they had to work around that have been going on at the horse park.

Simba finished 2nd in a very competitive OP division.  He was the fastest he’s been on XC and seemed to carry a very comfortable pace adding only 1.6 time faults to his dressage score of 37.5.  His clean show jumping round on Sunday left him in second place.  I am looking forward to taking him to Florida and moving him up to Intermediate in the spring.

Maggie finished 3rd, on her dressage score, in her Open Novice division.  This mare keeps getting better and better each time out.  She will do her first Training combined test at Octoberfest.  I am very pleased with this mare’s progress and her owner’s commitment to her training.

Action Now finished 6th in the Open Beginner Novice division at Mid- South.  For his second show, he was very focused and ready to work.  He scored a respectable 38 in dressage and did not pick up any more penalties the rest of the weekend.  Watch for great things from this horse.

One, Two, Three Step also competed in the Open Beginner Novice division.  I have this nice horse in training for his owners to eventually take over and compete.  He was a pleasant partner all weekend and I am happy to have this guy in my program.

The CW Event Team has one last horse trial for 2009.  We are in Virginia this weekend.  It is always a nicely run event.

Get your winter lessons scheduled.  This is the time to focus on going back to basics and correcting the problems that may have plagued you during the show season.  I am here until mid January.  The new covered arena is almost completed so no excuses.  Call to sign up for lessons and getting the training you need for a successful 2010 show season!  It will be here before you know it.
