I have been on the road quite a bit but am home now and gearing up for the holidays!
As you know from my last blog, the CW Event Team went to VA Horse Trials over the Halloween weekend. After a wonderful dressage test out of Simba, I decided to retire on XC. The Open Preliminary across the street that runs with the intermediate track just seemed to be a little too much too soon in Simba’s career. He has run so well all year that I decided it best to end on a good not and press our luck. I have all winter to prepare him for courses such as that one.
Action Now went around the novice XC like a champion. He finished 10th overall with one rail in SJ. I am really excited about this horse. He has a great mind and really loves his new carreer.
After returning home from VA, I headed out to Holly Hill Farm in Benton, LA where I met up with Karen O’Conner and taught 4 day clinic. It was very cool to be returning there for a second time and be able to move forward with many that we saw in May and also reconfirm how good Karen and I are together in teaching the clinic. Sunday evening I was transported to Allison Freeman’s ranch southeast of Dallas for another two days of teaching. Although the numbers were not as big as Holly Hill, it was great to have more time to spend on each person attending the clinic and I was able to give them awesome individual attention. Had a great week and a half here at the farm riding and doing Pony Club gamers with Lucas. Also overseeing the final touches on the new cover for the arena. I am happy to say it is complete now and just some outside drainage and landscaping need to be completed.
On my way now to the Bahamas for Thanksgiving and spending time with my family and the sun!! My calendar for spring will be updated soon. Enjoy the holiday and stay tuned for our Christmas/Arena warming party!!!
