Kate

No story of Cathy would be complete without mentioning her lion hearted gleaming chestnut mare. This Irish TB, otherwise known as "Kate," was imported from England in 1997 and quickly proved herself a rising star in her first year of competition with Cathy. She then became our favorite "cover girl" winning "Best Conditioned Horse" at Rolex CCI***, placing fourteenth at her first CCI****, and fifteenth at Burghley CCI**** in 1998. Kate will tell you herself just how talented she is cross-country, and as she added experience, she began to show the same brilliance in dressage and show jumping. In 2002, Kate decided she wanted to have babies and delivered a little replica of her and Bruce Davidson's Lion King. She was then leased to Jackie Mars and Stonehall Farm where she had three more babies. You will see them out there competing soon, the first one since Simba is four this year and by the great Welton Doublecracker.

Kate is now back at Carriage Station Farm and is enjoying the next phase of her life, teaching an adult amateur the sport of eventing!!
